1. About NSCOU
The National Static Caravan Owners Union (NSCOU) is an independent organisation representing and supporting static caravan, lodge, and holiday home owners, as well as holiday park users, across the United Kingdom. NSCOU operates on a not-for-profit basis, with membership funds used solely for the benefit of its members.
2. Membership
Membership is open to static caravan owners and holiday park users in the UK. By joining, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
3. Use of Website
Our website is provided for general information and member services only. You agree not to use the website for unlawful, harmful, or misleading purposes. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure information is accurate and up to date, NSCOU cannot guarantee that all content is complete, error-free, or current.
4. Communications
By contacting NSCOU or becoming a member, you consent to us contacting you by email or post regarding your membership, updates, and relevant information. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
5. Privacy & Data Protection
NSCOU respects your privacy and processes personal data in accordance with UK data protection laws. Full details of how your data is collected, stored, and used are set out in our Privacy Policy.
6. Payments & Fees
Membership fees are non-refundable. All fees are displayed on our website and may be updated from time to time. Any changes to fees or membership terms will be communicated to active members in advance where reasonably possible.
7. Pre-Existing Issues & Scope of Assistance
NSCOU primarily provides support, guidance, and assistance in relation to issues that arise after a member has joined.
Matters, disputes, or issues that existed prior to the date of joining (“pre-existing issues”) are not automatically covered by membership.
Where reasonably possible, NSCOU may, at its discretion, offer guidance, information, or signposting in relation to pre-existing issues. Such assistance is not guaranteed and will depend on factors including the nature and complexity of the issue, any ongoing legal or regulatory processes, available resources, and potential conflicts of interest.
Membership does not guarantee representation, intervention, or resolution of any issue.
8. No Guarantee of Outcomes
While NSCOU will always act in good faith and seek to support members, we cannot guarantee any particular outcome, resolution, or success in relation to support, guidance, or assistance provided.
9. Liability
Information and support are provided in good faith and do not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice. NSCOU accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or financial impact arising from decisions made based on information provided via the website or through Union communications. Members should seek independent professional advice where appropriate.
10. External Links
The website may contain links to third-party websites or resources. NSCOU has no control over and accepts no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of these external sites.
11. Suspension or Termination of Membership
NSCOU reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership where a member breaches these Terms & Conditions, provides false or misleading information, engages in abusive or threatening behaviour, or acts in a manner likely to bring the Union into disrepute. Membership fees will not be refunded in such circumstances.
12. Changes to Services
NSCOU may amend, update, or withdraw certain services or benefits from time to time to reflect member needs, legal requirements, or operational considerations.
13. Changes to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated periodically. The most current version will take effect upon publication on this page.
14. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the part of the United Kingdom in which the member is ordinarily resident. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of that part of the United Kingdom.
15. Communications & Email Confirmation
Members are responsible for ensuring that the email address provided to NSCOU is accurate, accessible, and kept up to date, and for completing any email confirmation process requested.
While NSCOU does not restrict access to membership services where an email address has not yet been confirmed, failure to confirm an email address may result in missed communications, including important service updates, support correspondence, and notices.
NSCOU will provide reasonable means for members to resend email confirmation requests; however, NSCOU cannot be held responsible for any miscommunication, delay, or non-receipt of communications arising from an unconfirmed, incorrect, or inaccessible email address.
By continuing to use NSCOU services without confirming their email address, members acknowledge and accept this risk.
