Governance
Last updated: January 2026
The National Static Caravan Owners Union (NSCOU) is a member-led organisation committed to fairness, transparency, and accountability. Our goal is to operate as a non-profit union, ensuring that every decision, campaign, and penny is focused on supporting our members and improving standards across the static caravan industry.
We are run by a small committee of volunteers with extensive experience in union governance, member representation, and consumer rights. Together, we work to ensure NSCOU remains transparent, ethical, and fully focused on its mission to protect and empower caravan owners throughout the UK.
Our Governance Principles
- Operate with honesty, openness, and integrity in everything we do.
- Make decisions guided by the best interests of our members and the wider community of caravan owners.
- Maintain transparent reporting and accountability for how membership fees and donations are used.
- Follow democratic processes for leadership, policy decisions, and key organisational changes.
- Ensure compliance with UK legal standards for non-profit and union-style organisations.
All membership fees are reinvested directly into NSCOU’s work — funding member support, advocacy, legal partnerships, research, and campaigns aimed at fairer protection for caravan owners.
Our ultimate goal is to formalise NSCOU as a fully recognised non-profit organisation representing static caravan owners at a national level. This structure will ensure long-term accountability, independence, and stability while keeping the union focused on the people it serves, its members.
We will publish regular updates, financial summaries, and annual reports as part of our commitment to full transparency. Members will always have a say in how NSCOU is run, what we campaign for, and how funds are used.
Together, we are building a fairer, more transparent future for every static caravan owner in the UK.
